About Guna Vikas Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited – Agriculture & Farming in Guna
We've been working out of Guru Nanak Colony here in Guna for a bit now. It’s mostly women from the local farms coming together to get things sorted. K.D. Duaa helps us out with the space. It isn't a fancy office, just a place where we can talk about the crops and how to sell them without getting cheated. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, but we keep going. We deal with the seeds and the harvest. It’s mostly just us trying to make sure the farming families around here get a fair deal. We meet up, talk about what the soil needs, and figure out the transport. There’s always a lot of paperwork which isn't fun, but it has to be done. The colony is usually busy, so there’s always someone around if you need to ask a question. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work we do every day. It gets dusty in the summer and muddy when it rains, but the work doesn't stop. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so we know how it goes. We’re just trying to keep the farms running and the families fed. It’s practical work, nothing too complicated, just day-to-day farming business. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the grain bags. If the quality isn't right, the price drops, and that's bad for everyone. So we sit there under the fan and sort through things. It's a lot of sitting and talking, then a lot of heavy lifting when the trucks arrive. That’s just how our days go in Guna.
