Vividh Ceramic Tiles is over at number 7 in the Industrial Estate by Jewargi Cross. Kalaburagi gets pretty hot, and you can really feel it in the warehouse during the middle of the day. We have been in this industrial area for a long time, and it is a noisy place with all the other workshops around us. There is always the sound of hammers or machines going. Our place is full of ceramic tiles of all sizes. We keep them stacked high on wooden pallets. Moving them around requires a lot of care so nothing chips or cracks. We spend a lot of time organizing the rows so we can find the right batch when a customer asks. Most of our regulars are contractors who know exactly what they want, but we also get people who are just fixing up a bathroom and need a bit of help deciding. We have a small area where we show some samples, but it is mostly a working warehouse. The floor is usually covered in a bit of fine tile dust. We open early in the morning before the sun gets too high. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like being part of the local building trade. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs during lunch to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s just a regular local business run by people who know their tiles.
