Our place is tucked away on Road No. 11 in the Industrial Area of Lachhipur. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but once you’re in the rhythm of the industrial zone, it feels like home. Shankar Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. is right where the action is, surrounded by factories and workshops. The dust from the road gets everywhere, so we’re constantly wiping down the desks. It’s a noisy neighborhood, but inside the office, we’ve managed to make it relatively quiet. We work on a lot of technical projects that require a lot of concentration. Sometimes the internet acts up when it’s windy, which can be a bit of a pain, but we make do. The staff here is a mix of locals and people who commute from the city. We have a small pantry where the kettle is almost always boiling. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit; usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. It’s a practical environment for practical work. The Industrial Area isn't the prettiest part of town, but it’s where things get built. We’ve been on Road No. 11 for years, and we know the tea seller and the security guards from the neighboring plots. It’s a community of its own out here in Lachhipur. We spend our days solving problems and making sure the machinery of the business keeps turning.
