International Guest House

You can find us over at C 141/27 in Humayunpur South, right on Durga Bari Road. We are pretty close to the main building of the International Guest House itself, so it’s not hard to spot. Gorakhpur can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it, so we try to keep things quiet inside. It’s not a five-star hotel with gold handles on the doors, just a place to sleep that doesn’t cost a fortune. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and making sure the water in the tanks is full. The morning usually starts with the sound of the tea stalls opening up outside. We get all sorts of people staying here, some for work and some just passing through to Nepal or wherever they are headed. The furniture is a bit older, and maybe the walls could use a fresh coat of paint soon, but it’s clean and the fans work well enough. Sometimes the street noise from Durga Bari Road gets a bit loud in the evenings, but it settles down at night. We don't have a big kitchen, so most guests go out to eat at the local spots nearby. It’s just a simple guest house run by people who live right here in the neighborhood. We’re usually around if someone needs an extra pillow or directions to the station.
