If you are ever in Jasdan, you will find Rathod Hair Art right near the main bus stop. Being near the bus stand means we see a lot of people passing through. It’s a busy spot with buses coming and going at all hours. We’ve been operating from this little shop for a long time. It is a family thing, really. My father used to work here before me, and I just took over when he retired. The space isn't very large, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting. We have a couple of benches outside for when the shop is full. People in Jasdan know us well. We don't have a website or anything like that. Word of mouth is how people find us. We use traditional methods for the most part. A straight razor and some soap go a long way. The water isn't always hot, but we make it work. We close on certain holidays, but otherwise, you can find us here from morning until night. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common around here, and we just use the natural light from the doorway to finish up. It’s a humble life, but it’s ours. We enjoy hearing the news from the travelers who stop by before catching their next bus. It keeps things interesting for us to hear stories from different villages. The sound of the bus horns is like a clock for us, telling us exactly what time of day it is.
