Deluxe Hair Parlour

Our shop is right in the Upleta Lati Plot area of Rajkot. If you are standing by the Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar statue, you just look behind it and you will see us. We are also right opposite the bus stand, so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the buses coming and going all day. It’s a small place, but it works for what we do. Mostly it’s just men from the neighborhood or people waiting for their bus who need a quick trim or a shave. We’ve been here for a long time. The chairs are old but comfortable enough for a twenty-minute sit. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just the basic tools and a couple of mirrors that have seen better days. Sometimes the wait is long on Sundays because everyone wants to get ready for the work week. We see a lot of different faces since the bus stand brings in people from all over. Some people come in once and we never see them again, others have been coming for ten years. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the ceiling fans running full speed. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us working the chairs. We keep things simple. You come in, sit down, get your hair cut, and go about your business. That is how we have always done it here in this part of Rajkot. We don't even have a proper sign sometimes, just the door being open tells people we are ready to work.
