Akshar Handicraft & Dress Materials

Our place is in Shree Park, specifically Block No. E-5 near the Panch Pipda Road. It’s more of a residential neighborhood, so it feels very familiar and comfortable. We have a lot of dress materials stacked up high on the shelves. Sometimes the piles get so tall they look like they might tip over. We spend a lot of time measuring out fabric and talking to women from the nearby houses who come in looking for something specific. It’s a lot of cutting and folding all day long. The room usually smells like new cotton and maybe a bit of the incense we light in the morning for good luck. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the different types of cloth. The road outside is usually quiet except for when the kids are coming home from school. We like it that way. It gives us time to focus on the handicraft work without too many distractions. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit by the window to use the natural light. It’s not a perfect setup, but it works for us. We’ve been in this part of Shree Park for a while now and the neighbors are all very friendly. They often stop by just to say hello or ask about a certain pattern. It feels more like a community than a business park.
