Sukun Handicraft

Our small workshop is located over in Lohiyanagar, right on Kalorana Road. It’s where we spend most of our time making different handicraft items. It’s not a big factory or anything like that, just a workspace where a few of us sit and work with our hands. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. The street outside can get a bit dusty, and the noise from the road sometimes comes inside, but we’re used to it by now. We make things one by one. It takes time, and sometimes we run behind schedule when materials don't show up. We use basic tools mostly. The shelves are usually piled high with wood, fabric, and half-finished pieces. We don't have a fancy showroom. People usually just drop by the Kalorana Road spot if they want to see what we're working on. It's a bit messy with scraps and shavings on the floor, but that's how it goes when you're actually making things. We just try to make stuff that looks okay and lasts. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we have to wait a bit, but we just use that time to grab some water or talk. It’s a simple setup. We aren't looking to grow into some massive corporation. We just like having our own space here in Lohiyanagar where we can stay busy and provide for ourselves. We've known the neighbors for years and it feels like home.
