Vijay Gems & Jewellers

Vijay Gems & Jewellers has been sitting here in Rajander Nagar for a while now. We are easy to find on Morya Kothi Road in Sector 5, right where the traffic usually picks up in the evenings. It is not a huge place, just a regular shop where we keep the glass counters wiped down and the lights bright enough to see what is what. Most days start with opening the metal shutters and sweeping the front step because the dust from the road gets everywhere. We spend a lot of time sitting behind the counter talking to neighbors or people just passing through Sahibabad. Sometimes people come in with a broken chain that needs a quick fix or they want to see if we have any new stones in. It is mostly just us handling the day-to-day stuff, making sure everything is put away in the safe every night. The area around here is pretty busy with other shops, so there is always someone walking by or a scooter honking out front. We do not have fancy carpets or anything like that, just a plain floor and some chairs for folks to sit on while they look at pieces. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, but we manage with the fan. If you are looking for us, look for the sign near the corner. We stay until the market starts to quiet down, usually around eight. It is just how we do things here.
