Shukun Saloon

Shukun Saloon is sitting at 61, Old Gandhi Nagar Main Market. We are right in the middle of Ghaziabad, directly opposite the Bindal Showroom. Being in the main market means there is never a quiet moment. There is always the sound of horns and people shouting outside. Our shop is a small escape from that. We have the standard mirrors on the walls and those heavy chairs that tilt back for a shave. We’ve been at this spot for quite a while now. The floor is a bit worn from all the walking back and forth, but it’s a good shop. Men come in after doing their shopping or before they head to work. We don't have any fancy bells or whistles. We just provide haircuts and shaves like any other local place. Sometimes we have a little television running in the corner so people can watch the news while they wait. The air smells like shaving cream and aftershave most of the time. We know the other shopkeepers in Old Gandhi Nagar and we often chat with them during lunch. It’s a simple business. We keep the tools clean and the water warm. It’s not about being the most modern place in Ghaziabad; it’s just about being a reliable spot where you can get your hair cut without any fuss. We are here every day except for the occasional holiday.
