A One Saloon

A One Saloon has been sitting here on NH.58 in Sahibabad for several years. Being so close to Lr College means we see a lot of students coming in between their classes. They usually want whatever style is popular at the moment, which keeps us on our toes. The shop is quite easy to find since it is right on the main road. The noise from the trucks and buses going past never really stops, but you get used to it after a while. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have the usual setup with the big chairs and the spray bottles. We try to keep things organized, but on a busy Saturday, there are always hair clippings on the floor that need sweeping. My cousins and I work here together. We started this because we knew the area well and noticed there weren't many places for a decent haircut near the college. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. People just see the shop and walk in. Sometimes the chai wala from down the street brings us tea in the afternoon and we take a ten-minute break if there’s no one waiting. It is a practical business. We do shaves, head massages, and haircuts for the local men and the boys from the hostel. It is a small space, but it serves the neighborhood well enough and we enjoy the work we do for the people here.
