Satyam Fashion

Satyam Fashion is my place in Lakshmi Nagar, specifically at J-3/14 near the Chophla Mandir in the J Extension. It’s right in Murtiwali Gali, which is a very busy little street. You have to watch where you walk because of the scooters and the people carrying heavy bags. My shop is not very big, so I have to be smart about how I display everything. I hang many of the dresses from hooks on the walls and pile the rest on the floor on top of clean sheets. It’s a bit crowded but it’s full of life. I spend most of my day talking to customers who are looking for something new to wear for a festival or a party. The bells from the mandir nearby ring all the time, which is a nice background noise for work. I don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just a regular shop where you can find decent clothes. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to quickly pull the racks inside so nothing gets wet. The ceiling has a few water marks from an old leak, but it’s dry now. I do all the accounts myself by hand in a small diary. It’s a bit slow but I don't trust those machines anyway. We just keep things moving and try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. It’s a basic business for basic needs.
