Ramavtar Singh Tomar Advocate is located at 143 in the Hapur Civil Session Court. Working inside the court complex is a very unique experience. It is always busy and loud from the moment the main gates open in the morning. There are people everywhere you look. Lawyers in their black coats, clerks carrying huge bundles of files, and people waiting for their cases to be called. Our space at 143 is small and very simple. It is mostly just a big desk and some basic chairs. The walls are covered with wooden shelves for law books. They are thick and heavy to move. We spend a lot of time looking things up in those old pages. The noise from the hallway outside is constant. You can hear footsteps and voices echoing all day long. It is a very active and sometimes stressful place. Hapur is not a huge town but the court is the center of a lot of activity. We have a small wooden bench outside our door for people to sit on while they wait. Inside, we have an old fan that hums quite loudly. It is a bit distracting at first but you get used to it. We drink our tea in small glass cups brought from the canteen. The lighting in the room isn't great. We have one window but it looks out onto a courtyard. It is a functional office for serious work. We stay until the court closes for the day.
