Raj Kumar Verma

I am Raj Kumar Verma and you’ll find me at the Raj Nagar Civil Court Compound, specifically in unit 243. Working inside a court compound is a different kind of experience. There is always a sense of hurry, with people carrying files and lawyers rushing to their next hearing. My space at 243 is a small corner of this world. I’ve been here long enough that I know most of the faces that pass by my door every morning. The room itself is quite plain. I have a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and a desk that is almost entirely hidden under stacks of paper. I don’t have any fancy technology, just the basics that I need to get through my tasks. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but I never seem to find the time to actually get it done. Usually, I’m too busy talking to people or filling out forms. It’s a noisy place with the sound of the crowds outside, but once you’re inside, it’s easier to focus. I usually bring my own lunch from home and eat it while looking out the small window. It’s not a big company or a corporate office. It’s just me doing my job in a busy legal hub. I stay until the court closes and the crowds finally thin out.
