Raj Kumar Tyagi

Down by the Hapur Line Par Ghar Road, things can get pretty loud when the trains go by. My name is Raj Kumar Tyagi and this is where I’ve been based for several years. The location is right near the tracks, which is how everyone describes it when they are trying to tell someone where to find me. The building isn't much to look at, just some bricks and a tin roof that rattles a bit during storms. I spend most of my time here, surrounded by the stuff I’ve collected for work. It’s a bit of a trek to get here from the main part of town, but I like the independence it gives me. I don't have to worry about neighbors complaining if I stay late or make a bit of noise. The road outside is always busy with cycles and carts, and there’s a small tea stall just a few doors down where I get my morning fix. Inside my workspace, it’s mostly just shelves and a heavy table I use for everything. I’ve never seen the point in buying fancy office furniture when a sturdy piece of wood does the job. My hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day, which is a sign that I’ve actually been productive. It’s a simple way to make a living and I’ve grown fond of the sound of the trains.
