Our place is at 133 Meerut Road, right by the U P Border. Being in Rawal Pindi Garden near Chikamberpur means we are always around the transport companies. It’s a very noisy part of town because of all the trucks coming and going from the A R C Transport Co area. We’ve been here for a good while, and we’ve seen the border traffic change quite a bit. Crane work around here is mostly about helping the transport guys with their loads. Sometimes a truck is overbalanced or someone needs something heavy moved into a warehouse. We just bring the machine over and do the job. It’s dusty and loud, but that’s the nature of being on Meerut Road. I usually have grease under my fingernails and a bit of a cough from the exhaust fumes, but it’s okay. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the cranes are working and the jobs get finished so we can go home. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or things like that. If you need a lift, we come over and we do it. The neighbors are mostly other workshop owners, so we all know how it is to work long hours in the heat. It is a tough spot but we’ve grown to like the energy of the border and the constant movement of the trucks.
