Muskan Cloth Emporium

Muskan Cloth Emporium is right here in Connaught Place, inside Mehta Sadan on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. Being in CP means it is always busy. There is always someone walking by or looking in the window. We have a lot of different fabrics and clothes piled up inside. Sometimes the stacks get so high they almost tip over. It is a bit chaotic during the festival seasons when everyone wants something new. We try to keep the shop tidy, but when you have so many rolls of cloth, it is hard. The building itself, Mehta Sadan, has its own character. It is an old place with thick walls and high ceilings. We have been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers around the corner. We spend our days measuring out fabric and talking to people about what they want to make. It gets very hot in the afternoons, even with the ceiling fans going full speed. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down in our old ledgers. It is just how we have always done it. People like that they can come in and touch the materials before they buy anything. It is a lot of work, standing on our feet all day, but it is what we know. We just stay focused on the cloth.
