Mahabali Marble & Sanitary

If you drive down the Main Hapur Road in Govindpuram, you will see us at Plot No.37. It is hard to miss the stacks of marble leaning against the walls outside. Mahabali Marble & Sanitary is basically just a big yard and a small showroom area. It is heavy work. Moving these slabs takes a lot of effort and you have to be so careful not to crack the corners. One wrong move and a whole piece is wasted. We have been here for a while, watching the road get busier every single year. The dust from the traffic settles on the stones, so we have to keep wiping them down so people can see the real patterns. Customers come in looking for stuff for their new bathrooms or kitchens. They ask a lot of questions about which stone lasts longer or which color looks better with their paint. We just tell them what we know from seeing the stuff every day. It isn't like a fancy mall here. It is a workplace. There is usually some sand on the floor and the sound of a stone cutter running in the back. We have toilets and sinks piled up in boxes too. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when we get a new delivery. We start early because the sun gets very hot on the road by noon. We just like the feel of the stone. Most of our neighbors are also in the building trade, so we all know each other.
