Abhishek Marbles

We are Abhishek Marbles and you can find us at M/28 in Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad. Our place is basically a big yard filled with stone slabs and tiles. It’s a very practical kind of business. We don't have a big shiny office, just a desk where we do the billing and a lot of space for the heavy stuff. Ghaziabad can get really hot, and moving these marbles around is sweaty work. We have all sorts of patterns and colors leaning against the walls. Some of them have been here for a while and others go out as soon as they arrive. I spend most of my time outside with the workers, checking the edges of the stone or helping someone pick out a piece for their kitchen or floor. The neighbors in Nehru Nagar know us well because we’ve been at this spot for quite some time. You can hear the sound of the saws every now and then when we have to trim something down. It’s a bit messy with the dust and the water we use for cutting, but that’s just part of the marble trade. We like the way the stone looks once it’s polished up, but here in the yard, it’s all just raw material and hard work. People come by, look at the stacks, and we figure out what they need.
