L & T Construction

We are currently set up over at the Hindon Airport Station. It is a construction site, so things are pretty rough and ready. Most of our day is spent in a portable cabin that serves as our main office. There is dust everywhere, and you can always hear the sound of heavy machinery or planes in the distance. We wear boots and vests all day. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We have a lot of maps and blueprints pinned to the walls. It gets very hot during the middle of the day, and the metal walls of the cabin don't help much. We drink a lot of water and try to stay on top of the schedule. There are workers coming in and out all the time asking for instructions or signing for materials. It’s a lot of coordination. We don't have much in the way of comforts. Just a few chairs, a table for meetings, and a kettle. The ground is uneven, so you have to watch where you walk. We are just here to get the building work done. It’s a long project and we are here from sunrise until late evening most days of the week. The water cooler is usually empty by noon, and someone has to remember to call for a refill before the weekend starts.
