Kallu & Sans

We are right here in Sahibabad New Sabji Mandi at spot D-18. It gets really loud and messy around here especially when the trucks come in at four in the morning. My father started things with just a small cart and now we have this space. It’s not fancy or anything like that. There is always dust on the floor and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a rattling noise when it’s on full speed. We spend most of our day dealing with the crates and talking to the farmers who bring their stuff in. Sometimes the weather makes it hard because the heat in the mandi can be a lot during May and June. We have some regular people who have been coming to us for years and they know exactly where to find us in the D-18 block. It’s a lot of work and our hands are usually dirty by the time noon rolls around. We eat our lunch sitting on the wooden crates and usually just get tea from the stall across the lane. The address is easy to find if you know the mandi layout but for new people it can be a bit of a maze with all the tractors and piles of sacks everywhere. We just keep our heads down and get the work done every day from morning until the sun goes down and the gates start to close up.
