Gyan Singh Siwas

I spend most of my time down at the Ghaziabad Civil Court Compound. My spot is number 291 in Raj Nagar. It’s a busy place, as you can probably imagine. There are lawyers and people everywhere, all trying to get their things sorted out. I’ve been working out of this small office for quite some time now. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. The walls are lined with old law books and stacks of papers that seem to grow every week. It gets dusty, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it works fine for what I need. People come to me when they have issues with their property or some other legal trouble. I don't give them a big speech; I just look at what they have and tell them what needs to happen next. It’s a lot of waiting around in the courts and filling out forms that have to be exactly right. Some days are longer than others, especially when the court schedule is packed. I grab my lunch from the stall nearby most days because the food is actually pretty good. This place has a certain rhythm to it. You get to know the other people working in the compound pretty well. It’s honest work, and I try to stay on top of the files as best as I can. Raj Nagar is a hectic area, but inside the compound, we just focus on the cases. It keeps me busy.
