Dinesh Gupta

I’m Dinesh Gupta and you’ll find me at 40A in the Gandhi Market area of Modi Nagar. It’s a very local spot and I've been here for years. The market is always buzzing with people buying groceries, clothes, and everything else. My shop is right in the thick of it all. I’ve been here for a long time, so I know most of the other shopkeepers around. We help each other out when we can, which is nice. My place isn't big, but it’s got everything I need to get through the day. I don’t use any marketing tricks to get people inside. They see the sign, they know what I do, and they come in if they need me for something. It’s a very direct way of doing business that works for me. I like the energy of Gandhi Market. It’s real and it’s honest. I usually open up around mid-morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down late at night. Sometimes the power goes out or it gets too hot in the summer, but we just deal with it. It’s part of the job. I don't have any interest in being a big corporation. I like being a local guy in a local market. My customers are mostly my neighbors and that’s how I like it. We have a chat about the weather or the news while we work on things. It’s just a normal part of life here in Modi Nagar.
