Devender Singh Yadav

My name is Devender Singh Yadav. You’ll find me at Shop Number 1853 in Hari Ram Market, which is part of the Bhagirath Place area in Chandni Chowk. It’s a bit of a maze back here. If you aren't familiar with the market, you might get turned around once or twice before you see my sign. The Zzzz section is always crowded with people moving boxes and carts. I’ve been in this shop for quite a while. It’s small, packed floor to ceiling with things, and smells like old paper and tea. Chandni Chowk is a tough place to work because it’s so loud and busy every single day, but I like the energy of it. There is always someone to talk to. I usually get here early before the crowds get too thick. Hari Ram Market has a lot of history and many of the shopkeepers have been here for decades. We all know each other. I don't really do much advertising. People just know where I am. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep working. That's just how life is in this part of town. I keep a small stool outside for when I need some air. It is a good place to sit and watch the world go by when things aren't too busy inside the shop. It might not look like much from the outside, but it is where I spend my life.
