Columbia Machines Co.

You can find Columbia Machines Co. at 338 Pandav Nagar Industrial Area, right off B. S. Road. It’s a busy industrial stretch and we’ve been part of it for a while. The shop floor is usually where everything happens. We have various machines sitting around, some old and some newer, and there’s always a bit of grease on the floor no matter how much we sweep. Working on B. S. Road means there is a constant stream of trucks and motorcycles passing by outside. Inside, we’re usually focused on whatever machine is currently being put together or fixed. It's not a quiet job. There's clicking, whirring, and the sound of tools clanking all day long. We don't have a fancy showroom or a bunch of salespeople in suits. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes, trying to figure out a mechanical problem or finishing a part for a customer. The Pandav Nagar area has a lot of businesses like ours, so it feels like the right place to be. We eat our lunch together near the back door and then get right back to it. Sometimes we stay late if a job is proving to be difficult. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just work with machines at 338, and that’s the long and short of it. It’s a practical life.
