Charan Singh Sain

I spend most of my days here at the Ghaziabad District Court Compound. It is a busy place, always full of people rushing around Raj Nagar with papers in their hands. My office is at number 241, and if you have ever been to the court, you know how loud it gets during the afternoons when everyone is trying to get things filed before the day ends. I have been working out of this spot for quite a while now. The walls are lined with wooden shelves and old files, and there is usually a stack of new ones waiting on the desk every morning. It is not a fancy office at all, just a practical space where the work gets done. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we are all used to it by now. People come in with all sorts of legal problems or paperwork issues, and we sit down and talk through what needs to happen next. It is just me and some helpers here, trying to keep up with the court schedule and the various dates. The tea stall right outside is where we usually get our midday break, and the chai is actually pretty good. It involves a lot of reading and typing every single day. The compound has its own rhythm. Raj Nagar is a central spot, so getting here isn't too hard, though parking is always a headache for everyone. We just keep our heads down and handle the documents as they come. It is honest work.
