Biram Singh Bhati

Biram Singh Bhati is located in Ghaziabad, specifically in Raju Band Wali Gali at number 402. This is a narrow lane and everyone knows everyone else’s business here. It’s a very local feel. We have our small workspace here where we handle everything. In the mornings, you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood waking up, people calling out to each other and the smell of breakfast being cooked nearby. Our office is just a plain room with a couple of benches and a solid wooden desk. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, maybe just a simple picture or two. The work we do is pretty straightforward and doesn't require much more than a pen and some paper most of the time. We like being in this part of Ghaziabad because it feels real. There’s no pretense here. We spend our afternoons dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s busy and sometimes it’s very quiet, giving us time to just sit and think. We usually have a cold drink when the sun is high because it gets quite stuffy in the lane. We don't use any complicated systems to manage things. We just remember people and their faces. It’s a very personal way of doing things. When the day ends, we just pull down the shutter and head home like everyone else on the street. It is a simple life and it works for us.
