Bachcha Singh

Karol Bagh is one of those places where you can find almost anything if you look long enough. Our spot is in Vishnu Kiran Chambers, right on Gurudwara Road. It’s building number 2145 60, and we are up in Shop No 201. It’s a bit of a climb, but we like being here. Bachcha Singh is the name on the registration, but we just think of it as our little workspace in the middle of all the chaos. Outside, you can hear the horns honking and people shouting all day, but inside it’s just us trying to get things done. We deal with a lot of different things throughout the week, mostly administrative stuff and helping people who walk in. It’s not a big team, just a couple of us who know how the systems work. The office is a bit cramped with all the files and the old furniture, but it works for us. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the other shop owners in the building. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there and wait for it to come back, talking about whatever is in the news. It is a very normal way to spend a day. We don’t have a website or any fancy brochures. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they were already in Karol Bagh for something else.
