Atiquddin Khan. Ghaziabad District Court Compound. If you’ve ever been to the court compound in Raj Nagar, you know it’s a hectic place. We are right in the middle of it. There are people everywhere, lawyers in black coats, and folks looking for help with their legal papers. Our spot is simple. We have a few benches for people to wait on and a desk that’s usually covered in files. It’s dusty because of all the construction nearby, but we try to keep it clean. Atiquddin Khan works here every day. We don't have air conditioning that works all the time, so we rely on the ceiling fans. It gets hot in the summer, but that’s just how it is in Ghaziabad. We handle a lot of typing and document filing. People come in with all sorts of problems. We don't promise miracles, we just do the work. The tea stall nearby is where we get our energy from. You can hear the announcements from the court buildings throughout the day. It’s not a quiet office. It’s a place of action and constant movement. We’ve been part of this court community for quite some time. We know the regulars and the staff around the compound. It’s a rough and tumble environment, but it’s where we feel at home. We stay until the courts close for the day. That is the way we keep things moving forward here.
