Anshu Classes is located down in the lower ground floor at 11/Lgf-2 on Ambedkar Road. Being in a basement means it stays a little cooler than the street outside, which is a blessing when the sun is beating down on the pavement. The noise of the traffic from Ambedkar Road still filters in though, so you can always hear the horns and the buses going by while we are trying to solve math problems. The walls are covered in charts and scribbled notes, and the whiteboards are usually stained with old marker ink that won't quite come off. It’s a tight space when all the students show up at once, and we often have to squeeze in extra stools so everyone has a place to sit. We don't have any fancy technology or smart boards. It's just us, the books, and a lot of pens. We spend our evenings going over lessons and helping with homework until late. Sometimes the street lights outside flicker and the stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step coming down. It’s a humble setup, but it’s where a lot of hard work happens every single day. We don’t put on any acts here. It’s just about getting the students to understand the material so they can do well. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but seeing them improve is what keeps the lights on.
