Akash Engineering Works

Starting the day early at Khasra No. 19 is just how it goes for us. Akash Engineering Works is right there on the Delhi Meerut Road in the Mainapur Industrial Area. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty hectic with all the trucks and traffic moving past the gate all day. We’ve got a solid crew here who knows their way around the machinery. Most of the time, the floor is covered in metal shavings and we’re all wearing our heavy boots. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, but it’s what we do. We deal with whatever comes through the door. Some days it’s big batches, other days it’s just one specific piece that needs fixing or cutting. The Mainapur Industrial Area has a lot of energy, and we fit right into that rhythm. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s usually just someone answering the phone while the drills are whining in the background. We try to keep our tools sharp and our measurements precise because that’s the only way things work in engineering. Lunch is usually a quick affair before getting back to the lathes. It can get hot in the summer under the corrugated roof, but we’ve got fans running to keep the air moving. By the time we lock up Khasra No. 19 at night, we’re tired, but the work is done.
