Ajay Gahlot

I work out of the Gurgaon Palampur Road area, right by the Anaj Mandi. My name is Ajay Gahlot and this is basically where I spend all my hours. The grain market is a loud place, always full of trucks and people moving sacks around. It’s a very grounded way to make a living. You see the real side of things here. I don't have a big staff or a shiny office. It’s mostly just me handling the business that comes through. The dust from the Mandi gets everywhere, so I’m always cleaning my desk. Palampur Road is a busy stretch, and being near the Anaj Mandi means you never have a quiet moment. I like the energy, though. It keeps you on your toes. I didn’t want to go into some office job in the city. I prefer being here where things are actually happening. People know me by name around here. It’s not about some brand or big mission. It’s just about getting the work done and being honest with the people you deal with. Some days the heat is a bit much, but you get used to it. I’ve been here for quite some time now and I don't see myself moving anytime soon. It’s a practical life. I just run things my way and hope for the best. It's just me doing my thing day in and day out.
