Advocate Lakshami Gupta

My office is tucked away in Rohini Sector 17, specifically at B 4, 234. It’s a standard residential area where things are usually moving fast. Working as an advocate here in Delhi means you’re always on the move between the office and the various courts. My space is filled with stacks of legal briefs and law books that I’ve collected over the years. It’s not a polished place by any means, but it’s where the real work happens. People come in with all sorts of worries, and I just sit with them and try to find a way through the legal mess. I’ve been here for a good while, so I know the rhythms of the sector. The mornings are for prep work and the afternoons are usually for meetings or court visits. There’s a lot of waiting involved in the legal profession, whether it’s for a hearing or for a document to be processed. I try to keep things straightforward and honest with everyone who walks through the door. Dealing with the law can be intimidating for many, so I just act as a guide. It’s a lot of responsibility, but it’s what I do every single day. The office might look a bit cluttered, but I know exactly where every file is. It’s a local practice, built on years of being right here in Rohini and dealing with everyday legal issues. I just keep focused on the files and the tasks for each day.
