Vaishno Switchgear (P) Ltd. is over at G-19 in Sector-11. Being in an industrial sector like this means things are a bit more organized than in the old city markets, but it still gets plenty busy. The unit is a decent size with enough room for the heavy machinery we use for the switchgear parts. You can hear the sound of metal being pressed or cut from the moment we open up in the morning. We have a small office section partitioned off from the main floor, but most of the action happens out where the components are being put together. The walls are a plain grey and we have calendars from three years ago still hanging up because nobody bothered to take them down. Our workers usually wear heavy boots because there is a lot of metal scrap on the floor sometimes. Lunchtime is when everyone sits together in the shade near the entrance to eat from their steel tiffin boxes. We do not spend much on decorating the place since it is a working factory and not a showroom. Sector-11 has a lot of trucks coming and going, so there is always a layer of dust on the windows. We just stick to our routine of checking the panels and making sure the wiring is done right before anything leaves the gate. It is straightforward work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without any big corporate talk.
