The Pivot

If you walk down the street in Sector-10, you will find us at D-225. It is a plain building, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done for us. We have been in this spot for a while now, and most of the people around here know us by name. There is usually a bit of a breeze coming through the front door in the mornings, which is nice before the heat really kicks in. The office isn't huge, but we make it work with the desks pushed together and stacks of papers that we really should organize better one of these days. Most days are just a cycle of answering phones, checking on what needs to go out, and making sure the machines are running like they are supposed to. Sometimes the power cuts out for a bit, and we all just sit around and wait, maybe grab a tea from the shop at the corner. It is a quiet enough corner of the sector, though the traffic picks up in the evening when everyone is trying to head home at once. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders because we are usually too busy actually doing the work. It’s just us here at The Pivot, trying to keep things moving along without too much fuss. We know the neighbors, they know us, and that is pretty much how things go at D-225 every single day.
