We operate out of Bengali Colony in Mahavir Enclave, specifically at H4/36B. It’s a residential neighborhood, so the streets are a bit narrow and you have to be careful when the delivery trucks are coming through. Our space is mostly filled with bags of cement stacked high up to the ceiling. There’s always a fine layer of grey dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the life of a cement agency. We spend our days taking orders, checking stock, and helping load up smaller tempos or carts for local building projects. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and it keeps us busy from early morning. We have a small corner where we sit to do the billing and talk to customers. People from around the colony usually just stop by when they’re starting a small repair or adding a room to their house. We know most of the local masons and contractors by their first names. It’s not a fancy setup, just a simple place to get what you need for a construction job. The phone rings a lot, and there’s usually some commotion outside with the traffic, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just try to get the bags out to the sites on time so the work doesn't stop and the builders can keep going. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it.
