Shally Thread

Down at 37/3 Harola Sharma Market, you'll find us at Shally Thread. The market is always moving and it can get pretty loud outside with all the people and traffic passing by. Inside our shop, it's a bit different, mostly filled with rows of thread spools in every color you can think of. We spend a lot of our time sorting through stock and making sure everything is where it should be, though things have a way of getting mixed up during the rush. We’ve been in this spot for a while and have seen the market change over the years. People come to us when they need specific threads for their sewing projects or bigger garment work. It’s a small space, so we have to use every inch of the walls to stack the inventory. Sometimes the light isn't the best in the back, but we know where everything is by heart now. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique; we're just a supply shop for people who work with fabric. It’s a lot of manual work, counting spools and loading bags, but it’s what we do. Most of the time it’s just a steady stream of locals popping in to match a color or pick up a bulk order. It keeps us on our feet from early morning until the market starts to wind down at night. We just try to keep the colors in order as best we can.
