Our office for the National Highways Authority Of India is over at LIG 83, Stage II in Berhampur. It’s a residential area in the Ganjam district of Orissa, so it feels a bit more like a home than a typical office building. We’ve been in this 760002 pin code area for a while now. The space inside LIG 83 is a bit cramped because we have so many documents and maps related to the highway projects. We have converted the rooms into workspaces, but you can still tell it was meant for living in. There’s a small front area where people wait if they need to talk to us. We don't have fancy office furniture, just what we could gather over the years. Outside, the neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is a nice change from the busy roads we spend our time thinking about. We have a lot of tea and spend hours going over the details of the Stage II developments. It’s a practical setup for us. We aren't trying to be something we're not. It’s just a place where the work happens, far away from any corporate headquarters. Most of our neighbors know who we are and what we do. We like the pace of Berhampur and the way we can just focus on the task at hand without too many distractions. It’s just us and the records we keep here in Ganjam.
