We are located on Shriram Nagar Street, which is just off Aska Road in Berhampur. It is a decent spot to work, especially being so close to the Utkal Cinema. You can usually hear the muffled sounds from the main road, but our little street stays a bit more tucked away from the heaviest traffic. We deal mostly with granite here. It is tough material, and working with it every single day takes a bit of a toll on your back. We have a lot of different slabs lined up along the walls of our yard. Some are polished up already, while some are still very rough from the quarry. Most of our time is spent talking to local contractors or families who are looking to finish a home project. We are not big on fancy displays or marketing. We just have the stone out where you can touch it and see the natural grain for yourself. It gets pretty busy during the middle of the week. We have a small crew, and we all just pitch in with the loading and the unloading when the trucks arrive. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit difficult, especially when the rain turns the yard muddy, but we manage to keep the stones moving. We have been part of this Berhampur neighborhood for a while now. It is a plain and honest way to make a living. We are usually just covered in a bit of stone dust by noon.
