Yuksam is a quiet place and we are right here on Norbugang Road. Mentok Trek And Tours started because we know these trails better than anyone else. Most days you will find us checking ropes or drying out tents in the yard. It is not some big fancy office. We have got some old chairs and a lot of maps on the walls. The village life is slow but when a group comes it gets busy fast. We handle the ponies and make sure the food is packed right for the high climbs. Sometimes the weather doesn't play nice and we have to sit around and wait for the rain to stop. That is just how it is in the mountains. We don't have a big fleet of cars or anything like that. It is mostly just local guys who grew up walking these hills. We know where the rocks get slippery and which path is blocked after a storm. If you come by the shop you might have to wait a bit if we are out back sorting the gear. We try to keep things simple and honest. You get your pack, you get your guide, and you head out. It is hard work but we like being outside more than sitting behind a desk. We’ve been at this address for a long time and people know where to find us. It’s just how we live.
