Shree Ambica Steel Works

Our workshop is located at 3327 Krantinagar which is right across from the Jaikrishna Society on Bhadvatnagar Road in Isanpur. If you are nearby you will probably hear the sound of our grinders or the hum of the welding machines before you see us. We work mostly with raw steel and iron to make gates window grills and other structural bits for houses. The floor is always covered in metal filings and the air has that metallic smell from the heat. We spend our days wearing heavy masks and gloves to protect ourselves from the sparks. It is a hot and noisy environment especially during the summer months. Most of the time we are busy measuring long bars of steel and cutting them down to the right lengths. We don’t have a fancy office or any place to sit comfortably. We just have our work tables and the machinery. People bring us sketches of what they want their new front gate to look like and we do our best to build it. Sometimes the designs are complicated and take us a few extra days of bending and joining the metal. It’s a tough way to make a living but there is something satisfying about seeing a finished gate being loaded onto a truck. We’ve been in Isanpur for a long time and the regulars know they can just walk in and talk to us about what they need.
