Government Higher Secondary School (Science Stream

Being right near the station on Station Road in Dehgam means we always hear the trains passing by during class. It is a bit loud, but the students and teachers don't really notice it anymore. This school focuses on the science stream, so you’ll see a lot of kids carrying heavy practical books and worrying about their chemistry experiments. The labs are old-fashioned with wooden tables and glass jars that have seen better days. We try to keep things organized, but in a government school, there’s always a bit of a mess somewhere. In the mornings, the gate is crowded with bicycles and kids rushing in before the first bell. Many of our students travel from villages nearby, taking the train or bus every single day. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-empty cups of chai. We don't have air conditioning or fancy labs, just basic stuff that works if you use it right. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, and we just open all the windows to let the breeze in from the tracks. It’s a simple life here, focused on getting the syllabus finished and helping the kids pass their board exams. We know our students don't have it easy, so we just do what we can with the resources we have on hand. It’s a lot of hard work for everyone involved, but we keep going. There is always more to do the next morning.
