We are situated out in Bhuj, specifically in Ashapura Township near the Airport Road. If you’ve spent any time in Kutch, you know the wind can get quite dusty. Our office at Plot No 33 is a straightforward place. We don’t have fancy carpets or expensive art. It’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of paper. People from the township often walk over to ask us about their life insurance. Since we are near the airport road, we hear the occasional plane, but mostly it’s just the sound of the ceiling fans and people talking. We have a small area where visitors can sit while they wait. The work we do is pretty repetitive—lots of data entry and checking signatures—but it’s important. We all bring our own water bottles from home because it gets so dry here. Sometimes we share snacks during the afternoon break. It’s a tight-knit group of workers. We know the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. Being in a township means we see a lot of the same people. We don't try to be something we aren't. We are just a local branch where you can come to fix your insurance issues. It stays pretty busy on Mondays, but the rest of the week is manageable. We just try to stay on top of the paperwork and keep things moving. We usually leave exactly when the clock strikes closing time to catch the bus.
