Fabmet

Being in Gadag is good because it’s not as chaotic as the big cities, but there is still plenty to do. We deal with metal and fabrication mostly. Our workshop is a bit dusty and loud because of the machines, but that’s normal for this line of work. We’ve been around for a bit and we know many of the neighbors. It’s a family-oriented vibe here. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to people who need things built or fixed. Sometimes it’s a small piece of equipment, other times it’s something bigger for a local project. The winters are nice here but the summers can be a bit dry. We spend a lot of time on the shop floor. It’s a simple setup. We have our regulars who come by for a tea and to discuss what needs to be done next. We try to keep the costs down by being smart about how we use materials. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. There’s always some grease on our hands and a lot of scrap metal in the corner, but that’s the way it is.
