Being located near Kamal Wala Chowk in Mallanwala makes for a busy morning. Tiny Stars is right in that pocket of Ferozepur where things feel very local and familiar. We see the same tractors and buses going past every day. The school itself is a humble place. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Instead, you'll find a few rooms with benches and a small area where the kids can run around. In the winter, the Punjab fog gets so thick you can barely see the chowk from the front door. We all huddle inside and the kids wear their thick sweaters. The teachers here are mostly women from the surrounding village areas. We spend a lot of time making sure the kids have their homework done and their uniforms are neat. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized, especially when the bell rings and everyone wants to leave at once. The smell of the nearby fields often drifts in through the windows. We’ve got some old wooden cupboards full of supplies that have been here since we started. It’s not a place with a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid building where we teach the basics. We like the way the community knows us. You can't walk down the street without saying hello to a parent or a former student. That’s just Mallanwala for you, and we are just a part of it.
