Madaan Pubilc School

Madaan Public School is located in Gandhi Nagar, which is a part of Jalalabad in the Ferozepur district. It’s a quiet corner of the world, mostly. Our school is a modest building that sits among the houses in the neighborhood. We don't have a big sign with lights or anything like that. People find us because they live nearby and want a place for their children to learn. The mornings here start with the sound of the school bell and the chatter of kids arriving in their uniforms. We have a small yard where the students gather for their morning assembly. It’s often a bit chilly in the winter months here in Punjab, so everyone is bundled up until the sun gets higher. We spend our time working through the textbooks and making sure the kids understand their math and languages. The teachers are locals who have a lot of patience for the rowdy younger ones. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just a school. We have some trees that give a bit of shade in the afternoon, and that’s where the kids like to sit during their break. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desks have some scratches on them, but it’s a place where real learning happens every single day without any fuss or extra polish. We just focus on the basics.
