We are over at Plot No 3 in Nehru Nagar, right in the heart of Loha Mandi. If you’ve ever been to Loha Mandi, you know it’s a place of heavy trucks, piles of iron rods, and the constant sound of metal hitting metal. Our shop, Vinayak Steel Precision Industries, fits right in. We focus on steel work and precision parts, though "precision" usually means getting the oil and the measurements just right on the old machines we use. The floor is always a bit slippery and the air smells like burnt oil and cooling fluid most of the time. We aren't a big corporation with suits and ties; we are just guys in overalls who aren't afraid to get our hands dirty. Sometimes the heat from the forge or the welding makes it hard to breathe, so we step out for air. We get a lot of bulk orders from other industries in the area. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially when a big shipment of raw steel arrives late in the evening. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just walk into the workshop and see us at the machines. It’s honest work and it’s been our life for many years now. The tea here is strong and the work is steady. We wouldn't know what else to do with ourselves anyway.
