It’s a metal market area, so there’s always the sound of clanging iron and heavy trucks moving around. Our shop is filled with all kinds of pipes and metal sections stacked up against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where every piece is. We spend most of the day loading and unloading stuff or talking to customers who come in looking for specific sizes. It’s a dusty job, and your hands never really stay clean for long. We don’t have any fancy displays. The products are right there for anyone to see. My brother and I usually run the place together, along with a couple of workers who help with the heavy lifting. We’ve seen many other shops come and go, but we’ve managed to stay put. Most of our regulars are local contractors or builders who have been buying from us since we first opened. We don’t bother with much paperwork beyond what’s necessary for the bills.
