Our yard is at Plot No. 8, right across from Friends Dharam Kanta in Sohna Saroorpur. Ksc Krishna Steel Pvt. Ltd. isn't a quiet place. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or trucks backing in to unload. We deal with a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s dusty and hot in the summer, but that’s just how the steel business works. We spend our time checking loads and making sure the inventory is where it should be. Most of us have been working with iron and steel for years now. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning that works all the time. It’s more of a practical space for getting things loaded and sent out. When a truck arrives, everyone gets to work. We see a lot of builders and contractors coming through the gates every morning. Sometimes the rain slows things down, but we catch up once it stops. We keep track of everything in big ledgers and try not to lose our pens in the mess. It’s straightforward work. No one wears a suit or tie here. We’re usually covered in a bit of grime by the end of the shift. If you need steel, you come down to the yard and talk to us directly. We’ll show you what’s in stock. It’s a noisy and busy spot, but it’s our spot. We just keep the gates open and the cranes moving through the day.
