U. J. Zippers Ltd.

At U. J. Zippers Ltd., our world revolves around the small things that hold everything together. We are located at 12 A Sector-27/c, which is a fairly typical industrial block. If you came to visit, you would hear the constant clinking of metal. That’s the sound of thousands of zippers being moved and sorted. We have bins everywhere filled with different lengths and colors of sliders and teeth. The floor is painted grey and has seen better days, but it’s a workspace that serves us well. We spend our time checking the pulls and making sure the tracks don't snag. It’s repetitive work, but it’s what we do. The staff here is mostly local people who have been with us for years. We know the machines by their sounds and can tell when one is about to act up just by the pitch of the motor. There’s a small desk in the corner where the paperwork gets handled, but most of us are on our feet for the better part of the day. We don't have a lot of visitors, so when someone shows up, it’s usually a delivery driver or a technician. We keep the windows shut to keep the metal from getting too much moisture from the outside air. It’s just a straightforward factory job where we make zippers and try to stay on top of the orders that come in every week.
